My word/phrase for 2017 is everyday magic.
“I do believe in an everyday sort of magic — the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone.”
– Charles de Lint
For kindness and thoughtfulness, such as the very thoughtful presents I got today. I value thoughtfulness over expense any day.
I don’t really have any Christmas traditions. Last year I had care in the morning as usual, went to the pub at lunch time then chilled out with nice chocolates and the latest season of criminal minds. This year it will depend a lot on the weather but if possible I’ll go to the pub again and I have nice chocolates and the latest season of criminal minds. So I guess my tradition in the making could be nice food and dvds and magazines.
A day late and not a photo of the solstice sunset. However, yesterday I started a year long project where I plan to take photos of a particular tree at the points in the wheel of the year.
Life changing… I moved house, I retired and I’m figuring out what my life looks like without work.

Photography. I love the way it changes how I see the world.
