About Me

I’m Helen! I’m a York based photographer (film and digital), writer and artist who offers a quirky and unusual view on the world. I use creativity as a outlet for expression and as a way of coping with my health conditions. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which affects my fine motor skills and causes pain throughout my body but especially in my hands. This does affect my creativity but I find the limitations placed on me by my physical disability aid rather than hinder the process.

Creativity is a fantastic way to cope with health difficulties, build confidence and help people to find themselves. It also encourages people to pay deeper attention and appreciation to the everyday. I believe everyone is creative in their own way and am passionate about helping others embrace this.
